MISSION

Global Peace Development (GPD) seeks to build peace and foster democracy and good governance at the community, local, state and national levels to catalyze sustainable development. GPD identifies the causes, nature and extent of conflicts and restiveness, analyzes and disseminates information to design and deliver intervention and advocacy services to promote understanding and facilitate behavior / perception and policy changes to enhance sustainable management of development.

OBJECTIVES

• To carry out sensitization and awareness campaign on conflict prevention, resolution and sustenance of peace.
• To assist stakeholders in carrying out needs assessment and Participatory Rural Appraisal in rural communities.
• To transform and re-orient youth on good morals and peace building.
• To promote environmental protection and human security through analysis, campaign and engagement.
• To promote democratic process and good governance through civic education, advocacy, and media engagement.
• To reduce poverty and hunger by developing women and youths through capacity building, and skills training for development.
• To monitor and evaluate projects, and policy performance
• To improve rural and urban community health status through mobilization, campaign, and engagement to support OVC and HIV/AIDS intervention
• To formulate programs to improve, protect and safeguard children from abuse and violations
• To speak against injustice, discrimination, oppressions, marginalisation, gender inequality and social exclusion.
• To support development of rural and urban communities through sustainable development planning and management.

FUNDING

Funding for GPD comes from membership fees and donations from Public-spirited individuals, organization and International Donor agencies.
