Kidunimirye Women Association in collaboration with Global Peace Development have established Peace Club in 3 Secondary Schools in Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The members are teenagers from Senior Secondary Classes of SS1 and SS2 from Tarigwalam Government Secondary School, Triumphant Science Academy and Government Day Secondary School.
Speaking at the inaugural/Mentorship meeting, Chairperson of the Association, Mrs Ludda Iliya revealed that the Club was established to shape the minds of the youth and mentor them to be exemplary in their conducts and to create a practical approach to peace in the selected schools.

Mrs Iliya charged them to shun all vices, take their studies seriously and to live an exemplary life worthy of emulation by other students.
In her remark, the Project Officer, Beauty John said the programme was organized in pursuance of the Initiative to Enhance Participation of Women Association in Peace Building in Adamawa State Project that seeks to increase women participation in peace building processes and leadership.
She lauded European Union and British Council for funding the activity. “We are in the right track to sustainable Peace through shaping of these young minds that would be leaders of this country in no distant time and this would not have been possible without the funding support of European Union and British Council” she noted.

One of the mentors, Mr Joshua Dahunde thanked the organizers of the programme. He explained that some of the senior students had become notorious for drug abuse and waylaying of teachers who try to correct them.
In his words “We dare not discipline them because of fear. In fact a teacher from one of the schools in this town was stabbed by his student recently however, I believe that this club will guide them on the right path to peace and success”, he said.
Speaking on behalf of the peace ambassadors, Abdullahi Husseini pledged to uphold the principles of the Peace Club.
